MUONIO AND LOCAL LIFE

The Best place to be?

In a world where nature is slipping out of reach for many, this place remains a quiet investment in the future. Here, the seasons still turn in their full shape. Winter is still winter. Summer is still kind. The air is clean. The water is clear. The forest is close.

Finland was once again ranked the happiest country in the world in 2025 – for the eighth consecutive year. And Muonio, in Finland’s far north, has quietly held its place among the happiest communities in the country.

Life here is shaped by space, nature, and peace.

The municipality borders Sweden, and cross-border cooperation and daily life flow freely. There’s a shared warmth between cultures, a sense of stability that extends beyond borders.

At Kätkä55, the possibility of restoring your connection to nature is not just symbolic – it's literal. The lake is at your feet. The forest waits beyond your doorstep. And time itself begins to move differently.

Though the landscape feels remote, you're never truly far. From door to Helsinki, it’s just three hours – a short hop back to the bustle, if ever needed.

This is a place where people from across Europe have quietly begun to settle. Not to escape life, but to live it more fully. To raise families, to build things, to breathe.

It’s not a place for everyone – just for those who feel the pull of something real.

Where are we?

Muonio is located in the far north of Finnish Lapland, close to the Swedish border and surrounded by vast wilderness. Despite its remote feel, the area is accessible year-round via maintained roads, and Kittilä Airport (80 km) and Enontekiö Airport (70 km) connect it with Helsinki and major European cities, especially in winter.

This property lies in the small historical village of Kätkäsuvanto – a settlement once known for its skilled builders of riverboats and sleds. Today, it remains a quiet, tight-knit community about 25 minutes’ drive from Muonio town center.

MIDNIGHT SUN : ~May 23 – July 21

The sun never truly sets – it only glides along the horizon, painting the sky in gold and rose.
